Default 4,0 stalls on the highway

Hey guys. I will driving in the highway about 1700 to 2500 rpms i come off the gas and she stalls out. When I try to restart, it cranks for a lot longer than it does when first started. It happened once in a while, now once a trip. Someone mentioned the crank positioning sensor, could that be the issue?
Any advice would help. Thanks guys

Yep.
Just ran into the same issue with my daughters 00 XJ.

Pulled the crank sensor and it was covered with oil/dirt.
Installed a new sensor and no more random stalling.

I suggest getting a new sensor from your favorite parts house. Junk yard sensors are fine for trail repairs.

Thanks for the reply. You are not the first to tell me about this. I am going to look into buying a new sensor

More often than not these parts are junk right out of the box, if there is an issue that is probably it. Just buy the good NAPA stuff.

I always go to NAPA and specify I want the good stuff, if they have it they know what I'm talking about and that's what they sell to me.
Disclaimer:
Not my fault peeps gave away their jobs in exchange for low prices.

OEM is usually the best choice and one of the best ways for people to help you is to fill out the user CP, quick and easy then we can all see the answers.
