well than i guess that is his problem.... but you also kno what.. you will not learn if you do not try.... like i say there is always a first time for everything and if you dont try it ever than all you are doing is wasting more money to pay people who really dont know what they are doing to do it for you... it does not take thattttt long to do it and the process is not worth anything near 500 buck for it... its not that hard, and with a little patience anyone can do it...

well the "indend" that is on your muffler is from when they tightened down the muffler clamp.. it pretty much presses the metal together... the way i have always done it from stock was to just use a sawzall and cut it off. you can get clamps that will slid over your exsisting pipe to make it fit, and if its possible than just weld it back together but idk if you can do that or not.. dont kno what your supply of tools are.... if not than you can use muffler clamps again.. the only problem i have with muffler clamps is that you can get leaks through those and that is kind of annoying to me

well a thing you can do is make a relief cut in the muffler flange... if you really want to get the muffler off without cutting into the cat than make a few cuts on the muffler flange so that the metal will expand... and it will not be pressed together anymore.. i find myself making relief cuts all the time to get stuff apart like in your example

yea thats what i mean by it.. run like a grinder or die grinder parallel with your muffler flange from where your muffler ends to where your cat starts it will split the metal holding them together and if you need to use a screwdriver to split them than more power to ya..
