My 3rd gears grinds if I shift into it to fast so I have to push clutch in then push it in to 3rd about half as fast as other gears. I am not sure if that effects it.

If 3rd gear grinds when you try shifting into it from 2nd, and especially from 4th, then you need a new clutch SOON, cause your gonna hurt your AX15 transmissions Syncros Syncros! Im rebuilding my 96 XJs Aisin AX15 right now because of this. Oh and a 4.10 or 4.56 regear would help for Chure. The 3.07s suck, even with LT235R15s!

Dont kill the Syncros! Syncros! New clutches packs go for $99 to $399. AX15 rebuild kits go for $179 to $399, and youd have to install a new clutch anyway. New clutch soon, and a 4.10 mostly pavement use axle regear or a 4.56 mostly off road quicker acceleration axle regear. With the AX15s gear ratios and the 4.0s wide torque band, Id go 4.56 for less stress on everything.

The guy said he put in a new clutch when I bought it and I just got it monday. It is not much of a problem for me just takes an extra second to shift into third so it does not grind. How do I regear it could I do it myself?

that is completely unnessassary to be shifting at such high rpms.. usualy for onroad my jeep only sees 3k once n a while.. but for normal everyday i usualy shift between 2-2.5k but at 4k thats just a loss of gass.. in lower gears usualy it stops climbing fast in speed at around 3.5 anything over is just overkill

could be just a synchro issue, or even a bad dog clutch. does it ever just pop out of 3rd on its own?
but as for you original problem. regearing should solve that. 34's with 3.07s is going to be a struggle.
