4wd conversion.
Currently driving an 01 XJ and have a chance to get a 99 XJ for parts, only need a flywheel said the guy but for $550 sounds awesome. It’s also a 4wd. Can I move the parts over to convert my 2wd to 4wd? I know they are the same generation but are there any differences that would get in the way?

good score as a 4wd donor. Cheap complete 4wd donors are a wonderful thing when doing this swap. Can always return to the source for anything needed vs piecing the swap together.
As far as a tutorial - in a nutshell its removing 2wd trans and driveshaft, then ditch the dummy front axle. THEN Remove donor jeeps front/rear driveshafts. Crossmember, tcase, transmission. Front axle comes out and then essentially start the install process.
Something to consider is the factory 4wd shift linkage setup. Remove the factory mounting bracket off the trans tunnel and dealing with the factory linkage in general can be troublesome. Consider a Boostwerks tcase linkage setup instead. They are also other variants available out there that are just as good. Go to google and enter in "Boostwerks XJ linkage" the setup should explain itself
