Thanks for the video, it's what I used as a guide to originally adjust linkage. I'll order the boostworks and give that a go, it will be a month or so untill I am at the desert again to install it, I'll post back with results.

Boostwerks seems to be the standard around here. I have one lying around in a box ready for my tcase swap when I get around to it. I've heard good things. There is also a cable actuated version from novak conversions. Bleepinjeep has a vid for installation of one from Novak. Good luck!
I am glad you posted that Boostwerks kit, I knew about the Novak kit but wasn't aware there was a cheaper option, I'll have to add that to my never ending list for my Jeep build.

No problem. Here is another option from Azzy Design Works... not as cheap as boostwerks tho and haven't heard much in terms of testimonials but for your consideration...

Update: I installed the Boostwerks kit, easy to install and well built! I'd like to know from someone who has a 231 TC (not dropped) and installed this kit what total adjustment you made. Would someone mind measuring end to end next time you are under your XJ? (BIG thanks in advance).

The bottom line is I can now shift into 4 LO about 50% of time, but it pops out of gear usually on de-acceleration. So I am doing better than when I started this thread!

Be advised that the WJ has used cable t/case linkage since 99. I'm sure with a little effort it can be made to function on the 231. Then it doesn't matter how the relationship between the t/case and body is.

Thanks Dave, but this is an XJ. I'd like to know from someone who has a 231 TC (not dropped) and installed this kit what total adjustment you made. Would someone mind measuring end to end next time you are under your XJ? (BIG thanks in advance).

My point was a conversion to cable linkage. I doubt very much it would be hard to do. Then any differences in relationship between the t/case and the body would be moot.
