I really wanted a 5 speed with the high output, i looked for a year and finally settled for my auto xj. I decided i would rather have a solid auto than a 5 speed with tons of miles and beat up body

Perhaps different regional areas also had different transmission preferences? Heck I see more 2wd XJs than I see 4wd..

I wanted a manual , but couldn't find one! Very hard to come by in my area, by the same token though i have only ever seen 1 2wd xj!

mines a 91 two door 5 speed and i love it till im stuck in traffic

I have actually put it in 4lo and 1st gear and just let it crawl.. I was on pavement but was going straight so it did not cause any binding.
