$ 8.00 freon cans
Just thought I would share this with the crowd. I found freon for 8 bucks a can at Big Lots. At the gouge-zone it's 14.99. Don't know if it's regional or not but it's worth looking into if you start working on your a/c this time of year

There is a 10 dollar core charge for the can and you need to buy an adaptor for 3 bucks to fit the new cans. Still a great deal after you take the empty cans back.

Sounds pretty sweet. I paid $45 a couple years ago for two cans in a (previously messed with), kit deal from Napa. The "friendly" stuff. Freon? really? The 1%'rs are building underground bunkers. Maybe ozone depletion is "in" again. Guess it's proven reversible.

It was a silly law.
Wisconsin banned individuals from buying r134a so we had to go to a shop to get the A/C recharged. Can't have us amateurs releasing the stuff into the atmosphere.
...But you could buy all the "computer duster" spray cans and portable air horns you want, filled with <drum roll> r134a! Designed of course to be sprayed directly into the atmosphere...
Some creative plumbing and two cans of "air horn" and presto- cold A/C again.
Stop laughing, lol. Some folks with a death wish use Propane: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w126...ad-r-12-c.html
Hank Hill would approve.
