there is a reason why a steel 8 inch with 3.75 is the most common rim choice for 33x12.5.
if you're gonna air down and hit the trails, you will hold a bead better and longer with an 8 inch rim. if you go 10, you won't be able to air down as far, thus providing a bouncier, rougher ride, which will evidently slow you down, therefor slowing the whole group down so they can wait for your slow azz.

but it is your choice.

yup 8" wide rim all the way. gives the tire a nice look when fully aired up (i dont like the wide rim look personally) and when aired down it holds the bead great!

these are 15x8 with 4" bs

Are those 15X8s on 10.50s or 12.50s?

10.5's. But for a 12.5" tire the 8" rim is still my favorite, My neighbor has 4 tj's and 2 yj's all on 8" wide rims with 12.5" tires.

a lot of different opinions please keep them coming. I think aluminum is the way for me to go being its a daily driver, and lighter but not sure about the width yet.Dont want them sticking out too much and I'd like to go with 4" backspacing. Thanks

Depends on preference .. the 5.9 in this picture is on 33x12.50x15 KM2s 15x10 4" backspacing..

The XJ is 33x14.00x15 15x10 4.5" Back spacing

This XJ is on 31x10.50 on 15x10 wheels

This XJ is on 31x10.50 15x8 AR aluminum wheels

This 5.9 is on 285x75x16 16x8

I personally prefer 15x10s on a 12.50+ wheel It helps out the COG of the vehicle. and that is very important when Driving on the road.

Yes I have read the facts. I had already seen them on Tire Rack. All the tire manufactures recommend larger then 8" wheels because I think the tire keeps it's intended shape. But a lot of these guys that are actually using them seam to go with the 8". I'm using them on road so the 10s are probably better.
