Default 8.25 upgrade?!

so i found a guy that is selling a Chrysler 8.25 for 250. its got 3.73 gearing and is trussed. the only thing it doesnt have is brake calipers and rotors.
so my question to all of you is how hard and how costly is it to put on capilers and rotors. ive never done an install only replaced them.
thanks all, wheeler

If its set up for disk breaks its probably not from a XJ (unless the PO did a break swap). Do you know what it's from? The breaks should just bolt up. You'll probably have to change the e-break cables. The reason I ask what its from is if its from a ZJ (Grand Cherokee) it's set up for a 4-link not leaf springs.

ZJs only came with the D35 or the D44A. NO C8.25.

That's weird cause my stock '97 ZJ has a 8.25 with discs!

I say buy it. It'll be cheaper than buying a 8.25 and throwing gears and a truss at it. Plus, discs are a bonus!

FYI, you'll probably need a proportioning valve to adjust the fluid pressure to the rear.

The only thing I'm finding is they used it when the D35c was not in stock. I stand corrected. From my readings you will see it under the '97 more than any other year. Must have been a shortage of D35c's! Must be pretty rare to have used it cause I am not finding anything listed for parts for it under Grand Cherokee.

If it's rare, does that mean it's worth more?!?
