Just made a short road trip with iat disconnected and no resistor, it ran great. Yes I cleaned all the grounds and every elect connector under the hood. Went through 3 cans of elect cleaner and used anti ox on ground connectors. Made 2 new ground connections between engine and body and 1 between battery and body. I'm going to drive it and see what happens. Thanks for the help

Interesting. I wonder if the ECU might differentiate between completely open, and the resistance it would see in really cold weather. I'd feel better having an IAT, or at least something that mimics something it would do at temp. Getting a realistic milage figure is extra tough for me, (yard--work/trailer--short gravel, some road to town trips--and Highway trips), all mixed up!

If you REALLY need an IAT, I'm sure one could be found somewhere, especially used.

There should be a "free pile" of Renix sensors for people with over 6,893 posts, (in my opinion),

What kills me Pete is all the stuff people go ahead and swap in without diagnosis. Shoot, if I had one of those dozens of fuel pumps (extra), I'd set up a metered bottle to see where/when she is really suckin it down! (oh, and when you DO make a trip North, please bring an IAT! (or I will solder my stubs...

The chart I have for Renix does show 100,000 ohms @ -- 40* (100,700 anyway), but it only goes up to 212* (& 185 ohms). (this new one says it's 50 ohms @ 300*) My .02 is that would likely be fine for someone mounting it somewhere else, or a guy could remove, drill/tap his manifold to fit it.
