Default 88 cherokee is being a total crapper

I have done a lot of searching and come up short…

my 88 cherokee 4.0l auto runs fantastic when cold… when it warms up, at 24% throttle and less its okay, and its okay at full throttle, anything in the middle its hard to accelerate, bogs and surges. mechanically its great. i have replaced the CPS, CTS, cleaned the throttle body and AIC ( i think is what its called) per the inter webs…. is there a way I can make it run in closed loop mode? or open loop mode…. which ever mode it is in when it first starts and runs for the first 15 minutes, until i can get around to just replacing ALL of the sensors. haha.

Thanks!

btw, my name is levi, and Im from ohio! Thanks again!

What is the fuel pressure reading? You can keep throwing sensors at it, or check the fuel pressure, your choice. You realize this vehicle is 26 years old, right?

Cruiser is off somewhere gettn toasted. He's probably gonna suggest doing one through five here, (or substituting #27 for #2) > https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/cr...x-tips-153657/

the reason i haven't tested the fuel pressure is that for the first 15 min, when cold, the jeep runs like a scolded dog. once it reaches operating temp, it runs like ****e.

s there a way i can lock it into the mode it in at first start up?

Bingo! See post #4 above. I think that might do it! That part where you watch the sensor ground resistance while you jiggle the wires is pretty neat!!

(that would be IAC, idle air control) You don't mean IAT because, well their aren't any.
