88 Cherokee cranks but wont start

No just unplug the wires on either end of the resistor and cross them over with a small peice of wire u could omh the reistor with a multi meter but I dont know the exact numbers it should be

Pump should run for a few seconds when you turn the key to the on position. If you can get someone to help, one turns the key and the other listens back by the fuel tank. Let us know what you find out.

Replaced MAP with a working one and still cranks, buddy got a fuel pressure tester and got 2psi at the rail. Also did the jump wire for giggles and still had a strong crank. One more thing what brand of fuel pump should I get so I don't have to worry about this for a long time?

Sweet, and thanks I'll keep that in mind but I just got the pump (Bosch) from Napa. Got it installed and works great plus acceleration is a lot smoother.
