Exclamation 88 cherokee motor question.

i want to put a 3-4.5 inch lift on my jeep with some 30 or 31's maybe a new front bumper with a winch. not sure. the point being my friend is telling me my motor might go out. i planned on upgrading it a little cold air intake etc... will i have motor troubles with a simple lift and new front bumper? many thanks

Yes. Your friend is dead on. Lifting your Cherokee will destroy the engine because the oil will have be lifted higher by the pump and you'll loose oil pressure!

Am I doing this right? Seriously, lifting will destroy the engine?

The only thing you'll see with the engine is a perceived drop in power due to the larger tires, and slightly worse gas mileage. If you regear as well, the power will come back. But with 31s I don't think it'll be a huge difference. Lots of people run stock gears on 4.0Ls at 3.5" and with 31s.
