Here's a thought since we're talking injectors here. I wouldn't waste any time trying to clean Renix injectors. They're prone to external leakage which can cause underhood fires. I would upgrade to the later style 4 hole injectors which "programbo" here on CF sells.
Fuel pressure test is a good idea.

I didn't know they were prone to leaking, YIKES!!! So fortunately for me they are not leaking. I definitely want to keep it that way, thank you very much. Well I only have tomorrow to work on it, I have some side work the rest of the week. Money is money, gotts to pay the bills. So after reading everyones' input I believe my next step would be a pressure test before I go into the injector thing. I have a question about this. Would this pressure test be checking pressure at the fuel pressure regulator, the fuel pump or both at the same time? My train of thought is if it checks pressure at one or the other then I would know which one is bad or not bad, but if it checks both at same time then it might be a useless test?! I'm open to any ideas that you have. Thank you.

Good point, I didn't have my thinking cap on. Some vehicles you can do that, neither the Renix or HO is one of them. You'd have to pull the entire rail to watch the spray pattern.

Well, I went to three different places(auto schmuck, junk boys, etc.) and they want a deposit which is refundable when returned. The catch is they want cash. If I had that, I would have already bought everything and been done with this issue . So needless to say, I have to wait a little longer before I can fix this frustrating issue. I am almost dead sure it is some kind of fuel issue. Income tax money is coming soon. After reading what everyone is posting, I believe I will be installing a new fuel pump and injectors. Fuel pressure regulator is new. And since the stock injectors are really scary junk, I think I will upgrade to the ones that Rooster was talking about. 703's I believe it was. I read somewhere that there is a fuel pump that was better than the others also. But I will do more research and pressure check before I start buying anything, I will be getting upgraded injectors cause I really do not think it's cool going down the freeway in LA as a ball of fire.

Do you have a harbor frieght near your house? I think they have a fuel pressure guage tester for 20 bucks... I had one and it worked very well until i dropped it lol...
you can go to the local junkyard and get the injectors and clean them up yourself if you are on a budgit and many also service and put new o rings on them.. you can get them from...
Dodge Neon injectors. P/N 0280155703 for 98 and older XJs The 703 injectors can be had from any 95-97 Dodge Neon, Caravan, Grand Caravan, Stratus, or Plymouth/Chrysler Breeze, Voyager, Grand Voyager, Cirrus, or Sebring with the 2.0L or 2.4L 4 cylinder engines
or get them from a vender... up to you on the route you want to take
and stay away from airtex fuel pumps... you also do not need to drop the tank to do the fuel pump... just a fyi for you...
