Trust in Cruiser, and thou shalt be delivered. Almost every issue I've had in my 89 has been electrical, with either the connecters themselves being broken or poor, or the grounds being ****e. Following his write up was probably the best thing I've done to my jeep.

Im not doubting cruiser as he does know a lot of good info id check what he says out before replacing anything and wasting money.
But my bet is fuel pump.
I spent over 500$ replacing every sensor in the jeep new cap new plug wires new vaccum harness from the dealer fuel filter . added multiple grounds brand new battery cables excide battery new brand new 100 amp alternator special hard to find champion copper truck plugs. spliced in some sensor grounds.
Still I get the up and down idle. Sometimes it will be up to 1000-1200 other times it will be at 300 rpm.
Also if your getting stallin or almost stalling in reverse and sorta of a hesitation while at a stop light trying to take off then once your going thing seems to drive great I would say ur egr valve is bad.
what is happening is its not closing fully so once u get going fast enough say 25+ your cruising along the valve is able to close however during idle or takeoff the thing is somewhat open.
if you have that problem aswell even removing the egr completely and not using it at all is better then hesitation and stalling everwhere burning out your starter. id look into that. A lot of people will try and test an egr and believe it is working so its ok when in fact its not moving correctly.

Sorry for posting the wrong thing I meant to say with the bouncing idle that sounds like the stop screw adjustment. on the newer throttle body I guess that was turned so I prolly have the same problem .
