89 xj tranny issues

Lol I don't have a good grasp on how those transmissions work. But I'm almost positive that they aren't completely electronic, they are mechanical as well. I'm not sure how. The newer Xj's were electronic. Regardless of how they work, I ended up just replacing my old one with a 93' tranny. The only issue is that I had to replace the tranny and the T-case because the shaft between the two have a different number spline shaft that changed from 21 to 23 in 1990.5-1996.

You probably could have replaced a few solenoids for a LOT less money and hassle, and had the same result.
