90° oil filter adapter removal
Hi guys, I have a 92 Cherokee 4wd that I just swapped the motor out again and the new one doesn’t have the 90° adapter but the direct mount to the block. What are pros and cons of doing it this way versus the 90°

Not familiar with the direct angle set up, but the 90 degree one is causing issues in original setups when trying to remove due to the pita clearance you have to get a wrench on. So from that point of view, and if a direct angle would leave you with better clearance, I'd say go with that.

just make sure the oil filter isn't too close to the frame. there is a layer of metal on the frame right near the end of the filter, and if your motor mounts ever get weak, that filter can come into contact with the sharp corner of that metal layer, and you will lose all your oil. ask me how i know. lol i just took a grinder with cut off disc, and took the sharp corner off.
