Default 91 Cherokee

How can i fix my 4h before winter?in my 91 Cherokee Laredo .not sure what tcase i got but it goes from 2h-4h-4l. I have no weird noises coming from it when i shift into ethier 4h or 4l .i feel the difference when i but it in 4L but dont feel any difference in 4h ...any ideas people?

Before everyone finds this and eats you alive you need to add a lot more info to clarify this. Year of Jeep, make (xj, zj, etc...), type of t-case (231,242,247,249). And also your specific problem, vibration, grinding noise, binding,etc...if you fix it quick it'll save you grief.

What do u drive, jeep cherokee or jeep grand cherokee???

What year is it????

What transfer case do u have????

What noise vibration ect. Does it make to make u think it doesn't work????

We gotta know this stuff to help

The guy i bought it from told me the 4 wheel drive didnt work and i took it out to the hills right after i got it and got stuck ...so i found this form looking for answers they gave me some tips i tried them and found out the 4l works I feel the difference when I shift into 4l but nothing in 4h

U should of looked for tire spin when u got it stuck on the hill, I don't know all that much about transfer cases, does the lever feel like it engages in 4h or does the lever refuse to get into position?

I did there was none from the front wheel.no it doest feel like it engages

Could be you have a front axle disconnect that's not working.......

Look at the rear side of the passenger side front axle. Got one of these on there?
