Default 91 Clutch issue / question(s)

Hi, I don't post much here but surely do love my jeep.

I have a 91 cherokee, 2dr, rubber floors, 4.0 - 5 spd. I love it.

Recently, the clutch seems to be acting strange and I wanted to ask y'all about it.

It's the hydraulic one.

Used to be when I push it in, it goes to the floor and when I let it out it grabs right at the top where it should and all was well, but lately, it's been acting odd.

Now, it seems that when I push it in, it feels like it disengages & engages at half-pedal now. It works, gears don't grind, I can get around but it seems like something is wrong.

Sometimes now, if I have the clutch pushed in at a stop light, when I let it out it will grab right on the floor and sometimes at half pedal. It's inconsistent.

Nothing is leaking, there's no puddles anywhere, the clutch doesn't slip, nothing. Just a half pedal type of thing.

The resivoir under the hood was a little low and the fluid seemed to be dirty in a way. I added a bit of fluid but it's still the same.

Any thoughts?

I'd appreciate it.

Kelly - In utah.
