91 Limited Alarm won't disarm
I have a 91 limited with a factory alarm. I bought it from a gentleman who was the second owner and he said he never had a key fob for it. The battery was dead so I charged it and as soon as I connected the battery the lights start to flash (horn doesn't work). At first it kept the jeep from starting but now the jeep will attempt to start (bad fuel pump).
I have tried the driver side door lock and unlock...nothing, tried passenger door lock and unlock...nothing.....tried the tail gate but it won't turn (wrong key???) I have read and tried disconnecting the wires that run to the back of the driver side key lock nothing, tried twisting them together and that's when the jeep will start but the lights still don't stop flashing.
When I looked at the Jeep the owner climbed in and was able to immediately dissable the alarm... how? I would call him but for reasons not worth explaining, I would rather not.

Honestly if he was able to disarm it easily whatever the reason you have for not wanting to call him it might be worth it to sit through a 15 minute call and get instructions on it

This is probably doesn't help at all, but I thought i remember hearing that attempting to tap into certain wires will do that to a security system. Like maybe an aftermarket radio/sub or anything really. I don't know what the hell i'm talking about or i would explain why...

I have spent hours searching online. At first it was keeping the Jeep from turning over, now it will start but the lights won't stop flashing.
Does the 91's have the keyless remote board like the 97+ do that fail? My 98 sport would at random lock and unlock the doors and the horn would sound when I tried to start it. It is a base model sport so it never had the keyless remotes but the control board is still located in the center console light. I unplugged it and haven't had a problem since.
And to answer the other question about aftermarket radios; the Jeep is bone stock.

I just wanted to post that this issue has been resolved. Turning the key in the driver door/ passenger door didn't work.
To disarm the alarm I had to remove the back panel for the tailgate and disconnect the harness going to the lock tumbler. I then used a short piece of stripped wire and jumpered the two outside pins on the female connector. No more alarm
