'92 Cherokee Off Road Lights Wiring..Help!?
Im new to the CherokeeForum, and this is my first post...Im hoping to get a little help from you!!
I am looking at purchasing some off road lights for my jeep, and i have been thinking about mounting them on the stock roof rail rack, how would you recommend wiring the lights into the cab?? If they can't be mounted on the roof, I am thinking about on the front bumper....Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

Welcome!
I did the exact same this you are talking about doing. When I get home I'll take some pics for you, but I just ran the wires from the dash switch up underneath the A pillar moulding and out through the door at the top. Barely even notice the wire. I have my lights pointing down to the sides for wheeling at night. Its a little hard to explain unless you actually see the pics.

I just bought a pair of rectangular fog lights from princess auto for $11.99 came with everything. There was a little shield in front of the bulb that I took out because I'm not going to be shining them into oncoming traffic, it gives them a little extra light. I'll take some pics with the lights on tonight.

The lights came with all the instructions so it was really easy. I didn't even really use the instructions anyways. The part that took the longest was wrapping the wires with the split loom. I used heavier guage wire as well and wired them directly to the battery, that way you get less voltage drop and I can run higher wattage bulbs if I want. (Not even sure if I can get higher wattage for those lights anyways). If you feel intimidated just get a cheap kit and read the instructions, and don't be afraid to screw anything up. The worst that can happen is the lights don't work. Mine didn't work for the first little bit, turned out I had forgotten to solder one of my connections and it had pulled apart.

wiring lights is simple all you need to do is a fused link and tap into it for your switch use that for you switch power. run a ground to the switch then you will run another wire to a relay and attach it to the 85 leg of the relay. next you will ground out the 86 leg and run a wire from the outer 87 leg of your relay to your lights ( you need to ground those out as well). then you will run a hot lead from your battery to the 30 leg of your relay (you will want to put a fuse in there somewhere near the battery). flip you switch and adjust your lights where you want them. you're done!!
