My cruise control cable is about 2 inches too short to hook onto the throttle plate.
Is there a way to lengthen or mount the cable differently?
Thanks.

The 93 I looked at today had this type of connector on the cruise servo. Yours looks about two inches shorter.
The connector slides up and down the cable. Yours looks kind of ragged on the left edge, could it have been broken in the past ?

I could probably connect the cable when mounted correctly if I open the throttle all the way. You don't suppose the fault could be in the cruise mechanism? That somehow the mechanism did not release?

I saw on Ebay tonight a cruise servo/ cable with the same fitting that you have.
On my 90 XJ I took off the servo end of the cable to see how it was attached. There is a resistor that controls the vacumn solenoids response. That is attached to a pulley that actually retracts/extends the cable attached to the throttle. Could be something screwy ( technical term) with the cable assy.
The yard I was just in had a complete 93 cruise servo with the cable and connector
attached.

I did more looking under the hood and found that the previous owner re-wired the cruise control and disconnected the plug under the dash. I have not yet determined where the plug goes. Do you know about this? THanks for the followup.
