94 cherokee fuel pump and sending unit
I'm looking to replace my 94 xj fuel pump assembly. I've read that this part is no longer made. What options do I have for replacement?

You can buy the pump itself, but I have also heard that the assembly is NLA. A junkyard or Craigslist deal might be available.
OR, perhaps swap in a later tank? I haven't tried this, but I have a 94, a 97 and a 98 to compare. I can't see why it would not work. There would need to be some clever on-site engineering with the connections, but I doubt the tank would be any different as far as mounting it. The fuel pump opening is on the top of the later models, rather than on the front.
Anybody know if this is doable?
A bonus is that a lot of the later ones are polyethylene. No rust!
In fact, the one from my 97 is going to be for sale pretty soon, once I snag the new Bosch pump out of it to put into my 98.

I thought delphi still made them but i do not see it. If the sending unit still functions correctly, my understanding is that you can use it with the new pump. Only the 97+ had everything as one unit. Delphi and walbro pumps seem to be the popular choice.
