So, after running it in power for a few days I must say – it drives a lot nicer, shifts better and (I might be delusional) but it feels a lot more powerful. No idea about the MPG but we'll see.

Yeah, check the MPGs. I'll bet they're as good or better. If they weren't, why would Jeep eliminate that switch and leave the TCU defaulted in the Power mode all the time in later years?

Very good point, I'll update when I've driven it dry a few times.

Was it ONLY xj's? My 92 mj with a prod. Date of 11/91 doesn't have it?

MJs had it in the same years. I bypass the switch so I'm in Power mode all the time. Takes 10 minutes to do. The you can put a useful switch in there!!

I figured, although I done have the switch, my right foot handles the job of power mode just fine!

and your jeep either spent it's original years in canada, or mexico. that switch was available/standard in either location through 94.
Ah, that makes sense, my Jeep was imported to the middle east and has since it's sandy years travelled north, way north.

I've never seen one on an mj, and i've owned around 29 mj's. one was a 4.0/auto from canada originally, and it did not have a switch. it was a 91.

MJs had the switch the same years as XJs did in the USA. I believe it was only 87 to 90, possibly 91, too. From the period of 1986 to 1992 I had 13 MJs as demos at the dealership.
