I have a 95 cherokee 2wd and it use to get hot. My theromstat went bad and i replaced it, but since then it gets warm. If i drive it for a while it gets a little hot.
I know it`s not stuck open because i put a non fail safe thermostat in it. My wife picked up a thermostat for $4 so i know it`s a cheap one.
Could it be a bad thermostat? I live in the north by idaho and it gets to cold for my wife with no heat and my mustang with 17`` tires takes the snow bad so i don`t drive it. Can some one help me figure this out?

It'"s a 195* also autozone told me a few things like a air bubble, a valve on radioator hose or vacumm leak. It get sort hot when driving but when sitting there in idle it drops cool to warm. So is there a valve on the hose? also how to check the heater core?

If both heater hoses are hot you may have a blend door that is not working properly.
On a '95, air pockets tend to work their way out in a couple of cycles.
Does your temp gauge stay around the middle after full warm up?
Inadequate water pump flow could also be a cause of lower heat.

Blend door is inside the heater case. You really hope that is not the problem. Extremely difficult to get to, dash has to come out and A/C evacuated, then refilled.
