Default 95zj 4.0 auto, no start and about to be pushed off a cliff!

Ok guys,
I have thrown the book at this thing with no results...

Short info - was driving on freeway when it backfired then died, towed home.
No spark/fuel

New parts - CPS, pickup coil, coil, battery, plugs, wires, cap & rotor (both sensors and coil are mopar)
All relays appear to be working properly (although today i got code 42 ASD relay for the first time)

I am past the point of my knowledge on this thing and am about to give up, please help me avoid the junk yard or 1000+ bill

Check for power and a pulsing ground at the primary side of the coil, then report back.

Check that your timing chain or related parts didn't break.

I have not checked for a pulsing ground, but did notice that one of the wires is only hot (I forgot the exact color but there is only two and its not the grey striped wire) while cranking engine, as soon as the starter stops rotating the ASD relay breaks the circuit and the coil looses its constant hot.

Ok, check the primary ground with a test light. It should flash while cranking.
