I bought a 96 xj with broken right motor mount .Previous owner had ruined thread bosses in block so I installed brown dog mount.
distributor was broken so i replaced it with the new one he left in jeep. Coil was cracked so i replaced that also. I have spark and power to injectors but no ground pulse from ecm.
Strange thing is if you pedal the throttle real fast it will fire the Injectors. I found that if i hooked up fuel gauge and loosened gauge head to let fuel dribble in throttle body it runs.
I installed noid light in injector harness and rarely got week random flash.If i snapped throttle quickly flash got stronger but only like it was accelleretion type signall.
I have checked my grounds back to pcm all read good.I am getting 5v on and off reference at pcm while it runs on dripping gas.
spent hours searching for wiring issue then broke down and bought ECM from parts store. Installed with no change. Thinking i had bad new part or incorrect flash I tried used ecm from a !999
xj.
It starts and runs with this ecm but my gen light is on. Ok I figured i just had bad ecm so i located a known good one from 96 with same numbers as mine. Installed and same as original problem.
Any ideas would be appreciated
