OK its been awhile. After rebuilding the top end with a new head and gaskets, upper and lower intake gaskets, water pump, oil pan gasket and getting all back together, I lost the misfire on cylinder 6 and was able to squeak it by DMV. 1 day after the inspection, which I got for 2 years, it threw the NSS code again. I now have time to figure it out.

4 months later after spending $500 and getting the top half of the motor rebuilt, the bottom half went and I spun a bearing. Motor was trashed. I found a complete 4.0 out of a 96 XJ with 160,000 + miles and completed a total freshen up. All new gaskets, water pump crank sensor, and intake sensors. its all back together and running pretty well. the only big issue I have now is the dreaded cooling issue. It seams to be running hot but not in the red. I flushed the system and heater core, added a new water pump and replaced the electric fan. It seems to run between 218* and 240*. I'm afraid that in the summer it will start to overheat. I've done the Ford Taurus E-fan upgrade in my YJ and will consider doing it again in my XJ but am I missing something?

Also doing research on mild lifts for better clearance. 3"-to-4" at most. Has anyone done a spring over on the rear axle, which is common for YJ's. If so, how much lift does it yield? In YJ's in netted 5" -to- 5-1/2" of height.
