U could make the lock in the same spot as the latch and it would lock right were the latch clipped

For what it is... that's too much money. Plus its going to break again anyways. I'd pay 40 bucks for a replacement if it were made of metal instead of plastic.

Broken here too. Need to get it fixed, I feel like the lid hinges are going to go next when I put my arm on it.

Mine broke because of a 275 lb kid I was giving rides too regularly. One day, pop! ... sigh ...

I made a metal base mount to replace the plastic one that always breaks so that the console won't move around when I put my elbow down on it.

Honestly, you guys ever consider changing the lid itself to the Grand Cherokee version. Quick, cheap fix IF you can find it in the JY, but once all said and done you also have cup holders for the rear passengers! And if I remember correctly a thicker cushioned lid...I came across this write-up a month or two ago in one of the few communities I'm registered to. Let me see if I can find it.

Edit* - After a quick google search, I found it hear in the forums! Here's the link...

You would still have to modify that to make the latch work. Read the original thread op said the only thing that doesn't work is the latch. I will say it looks good though.
