Hello!
I recently picked up a 1997 Cherokee with a crank no start condition that the previous owner tried to fix and gave up. He replaced all the ignition system coil, distributor. Crank pos sensor, cam position sensor and pcm. When i got the jeep I started with all the basic tests to rule something simple out. I found out the pcm was not sending out the 5 v reference. Cleaned all grounds and checked all engine related sensor circuits for opens or shorts, all checked out fine. Crank sensor tested ok. Pcm connector has the necessary power and grounds going in it just does not output what it is supposed to. I tested the ccd+ and ccd- at the dlc and found it to be .4V way below the spec. I decided to throw a pcm at it and that did not fix the issue. I am leaning towards a bus circuit failure or another module throwing the whole bus down. Also a scanner is unable to establish communication through the obd2 port. Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
