97 drives fine but won't start unless I lay on the gas pedal
My 97 drives fine, but is having trouble starting. I can turn the engine over forever and it will not start until I press on the gas pedal a few times. Drives no problem, no torque/power problems or issues with idling. Could this be a sign of a bad CPS? That's the one thing I have not replaced in recent years.
Actually, I do have issues with idling, its not a rough idle but sometimes there is heavy vibrations when idling. To clarify, this is not a new problem, just the problems starting is new.

Try priming the fuel pump a few times before you start. Turn key to On (not start) for about 2 seconds and back off. 3 or 4 times. You'll hear the pump in the back go on and off. Then start.
Does that make it start right up?
