now did your guys's alternators have those 4 bolt on leads in the back? plus the main of course

and Bulrid, yes it was load tested 3 consecutive and different times.. battery is good

well I hate to want to replace it when it says it's good ya know. it's got 235k miles on it and if the voltage regulator is actually the problem, i've lost a lot of money for no good reason... damn these rocks and hard places lol. but inadvertently Autozone has a load tester that checks every single component including voltage regulator. I'll take it down today and see if i cant find more information.. worst comes to worst i'll just get an alternator as you two have said that is the problem you guys had.

Default I just had the same problem.

Purchased new alternator, did not fix it. So i purchased a new battery still had problems. So someone told me to have the new alternator checked and the guy said it was bad and gave me a new one. But i was still having charging problems. Had a friend tell to check the battery temp switch which is on the battery tray. The switch should be checked with an ohm meter. The correct readings would be between 9k and 11k ohms. Anything below are above the switch is bad. My read 13k so i replaced it for about $35.00. Problem Solved

found out that it's my voltage regulator. had a full diagnostic on it at a shop.. so there goes $250 bucks for a damn ECM
