I have an all stock 1997 XJ Cherokee 4 dr and I ordered a new cowl to hood seal from eBay and they sent me one with plastic push in nubs installed onto seal. I pulled part of my seal off and they are no plastic nubs on old seal and no holes in the lip of metal that seal attaches too. My old seal was attached using adhesive only. 1A Auto sells this same seal and it has the attachment nubs as well. I have no seal that attaches to hood at all this seal attaches to the forward edge of cowl between hood and cowl. Any help on where to find the correct seal ? Thanks from new XJ owner.

I looked at Rockauto and the seal they have for the '97 does not show any pins and uses pressure sensitive tape. Says the application is '97-'01.

I looked at a '96 as well and it does show the pins. Says application is '84-'96. My '88 uses the pins.

You could just take the pins out and glue it down with some contact cement.

The part listing number is PRECISION CS611097. You could just search the web on this and find other online or local places.
