97 xj crank no start
97 xj sport crank but no start. I have a 97 xj and I'm not getting any fuel to the fuel rail I dropped the tank and hook a direct wire to the battery And I can hear the pump come on or if I jump the fuel pump relay it comes on but not otherwise but still does not pump fuel to the fuel rail. Should I get a new fuel pump or be loojloo at something different

When you jump the relay, are you bypassing it or just connecting one terminal to the other, ie: the hot side? I would remove the relay and put a volt meter on both terminals to the relay + and - to determine if you have current or not. If you do, it's probably a bad relay.

- Don't buy anything yet.
- Test and troubleshoot until you know what to buy.
- Start using punctuation. You are not texting with your besties. You are asking people to donate their time and expertise to help solve your problem. The least you could do it make your posts as easy to read as possible. Punctuation is not just a bunch of stupid rules somebody made up. It exists for good reasons.

1) 12V is not initially getting to the fuel pump via the relay ?
2) Once 12V is provided and your fuel pump can be heard to work, it still does not deliver fuel at the schrader valve ?
some easy possibilities are a bad earth, blocked fuel sock or filter

Sounds like you have 2 issues ?
