97 xj heat problem
So my heat doesn't work in my 97xj it blows but it blows cold,I thought it was a heater core but after taking it to a shop they said It was because my radiator is a rust bath....is that even possible? I have done a heater core flush but it didn't help and changed the thermostat + water pump
I just want some opinions before I drop $400 to find out a new radiator and hoeses won't help my heat

rad hoses go from rad to water pump and from thermostat housing to rad.
heater hoses go from water pump to heater core and heater core to thermostat housing. some through a valve.
if you're not getting heat, it's either the flow valve, heater core or blend door or not enough coolant in the rad, but you would know that as your temp gauge wouldn't get very hot.
it is possible that your rad is full of rust. when cold, remove valve cap and inspect underside of cap for build up of rust. this would mean that your heater core is most likely plugged up too with rust.
this is kinda tough to deal with, you have to fully flush the complete system before installing a new rad and possibly heater core.

Diagram is definitely wrong. Large 3/4" heater core nipple is on top, smaller 5/8" heater core nipple is on the bottom........just the opposite of that diagram.

Well then, we need to call upon all computer geeks in these parts to correct the diagram and give it back to us, don't ya think?
