Default 97 xj idles for 20 mins then stalls

I recently bough a 97 xj with 173000 miles. When i start it it will run nice and smooth, idle for about 20 mins then stall out. I just replaced the N.S.S. and this did not fix my problem. Can some body please steer me in the right direction.?

Yes. Once the engine switches from open to closed loop the PCM moniters the O2 Sensors and and adjusts the injector pulse width based on the readings from the o2 sensors (and other sensors as well).

Thoroughly clean the TB, including the IAC, and the MAP Sensor port.

ok I will try that now. I just hooked up a code reader to it an it read 2 codes... 1694 = trans range sensor/speed sensor and 0705 witch autozone said to be a ccd bus line or a ccd sensor but I don have a clue what a ccd is

P07XX are all transmission related. the Range select signal goes through the NSS. Pull, clean, add fresh dielectric grease, reassemble, and reinstall.

CCD Buss is the Chrysler propritary 2 wire system that transmits data to the gauge cluster. Pull the cluster, clean the contacts in both connectors and reassemble.

I had a '90 lumina (totally different car I know) that would not start to save my life. I did like you did, changed everything under the sun including fuel pump. Everything short of the computer. Out of desperation I changed some sensor in the oil pan, started up and trucked on another 40K before I sold it.
Long story short, keep at it, you'll get it!

Check the fuel pressure when the engine is cold and again when it warms up.
