So I have been trying to find the inner shift boot for my 97 Cherokee, 4.0 5 speed ax15 for months and I can’t find one anywhere. Someone hacked mine up at some point and I’m getting air/road noise through it. Does anyone have any idea where to find one or some way to replace/repair the one I have? Finding a 97+ manual xj in a junkyard around here is impossible.

 

This boot works fine you will need to make new screw holes as the old ones don't line up.

Someone on Reddit gave me the idea to try this one too. I was gonna use the one you listed and make a blank plate for the rest of the hole but this one may actually bolt right on, more or less. The shape is close to the same.
