98 Cherokee Hard to Start
My 98 4.0L Cherokee is hard to start when cold. I let it turn over for maybe 4 seconds then quit then try again and it starts after a couple of seconds. However, when it is warmed up it will start immediately. Someone suggested it might be the throttle position sensor? Any ideas?

To eliminate unnecessary spending take to auto parts store have the codes read even if lights not on. Intermittent probs will be stored as a soft code . Its free. Then post results....

To add to what freegdr said also try the poor man prime. Turn the key on to hear the fuel pump prime. Do Not start it. Do that 2 or 3 time then try to start it. If it starts faster you have one of two problems. Either a bad fuel check valve or a leaking fuel injector. Try that out and let us know if it help.
