Dumb question, but what was the point of the trailer wire connector thing?
Why didn't you just splice the broken wires? Did you need to extend the length or something?

I had to replace 4 wires. They were broken in the middle of the wire bundle. So instead of trying run 4 different wires. The trailer wire already came as a bundle of 4. So I spliced the trailer wires in about 5 inches off each connector. Does that make sense?

Ok, so it was the same amount of work, you just have the 4 wires bundled. What was the advantage of this? Seems like you'd pay more for that connector thing that you don't really need.

Nope. The whole package with connectors and all was only 5 bucks. I liked the wires already being bundled together. It made it easier to route from the inside thru the grommet, door jam boot and up thru the door to the window switch.

If you don't care about the window lock feature, there are 2 wires in the drivers door wiring that can be shorted together that will get all the window switches working. Search for "power window lock fix" and you should find which wires.
Thanks Superbee. I will check it out. May just find a new switch assembly.

You wouldn't want to take it apart before buying a new one?

No problem. I think most people bypass the lock switch is because the new switches, even a cheap one like Dorman, is like $130.
