I have a 98 zj limited v8 my question is how do I tell if I have the 5.2 or the 5.9 if some one could help me out that would be greatly appreciated

 

According to Wikipedia, the 5.9L came in the Limited models. Only about 14,000 Limiteds with the 5.9 were made, so better chance you have the 5.2. Also, check your VIN....The eight digit will be either S, Y or Z; 4.0L, 5.2L or 5.9L.

if stock there are several visible clues:

factory hood vents
different grill
different body moulding with 5.9 limited badging
custom wheels
only came in 3 colors: deep slate, bright platimun and stone white
premium fuel only sticker by fuel filler
