99 cherokee
Just looking for some info, have a 99' cherokee i am looking at buying. 4.0l, auto, and very few options, [a/c,cruise tilt] this unit has the shifter for the 4wd on the floor. [manual] 107,000kms from the original buyer. The jeep is in really nice shape inside and out, no trailer hitch, never offroad, underneath is real!!!! clean, owner never drove it thru winter. [he was down south] this is a 4 door unit. vehicle runs and drives quite well, but, i have never owned a Jeep. what upgrades if any would you recommend? how reliable are the 4.0l engines? any problem areas to look for? this unit has no rust, what so ever. no leaks underneath at all. any info towards this would really help in buying this unit. Thanks for your time, Stumper.

Wow, that's quick, thanks. Asking 5,000.00 the guy has owned jeeps all his life, he is in his 60's, he is holding the Jeep for me until tuesday.[ which is great]. this is a Jeep Cherokee Grizzy Edition? what is that? just a name? or.....also says Sport on the tailgate. he has added front driving lights and a remote starter, that's it. has a new safety and 4 new tires, he has the original ones in his garage, they still have about 20% tread life left, and are worn evenly. Price? what do you think, 5,000.00 obo

thanks, i checked other pricing and they range from 3500.00 to well above 10000.00, plus this Jeep has low mileage and is really clean, i don't think he ever had anyone sit in the back. gonna go and look at it Monday night and make an offer b4 he leaves for the southern states, Hope he takes it and I can send some pics for everyone to see. Again thanks for your time, Stumper.

Sounds like a great XJ for the price. I have a 91 Sport but, I've never heard of the Grizzly Edition. Mine has the same options as yours, A/C, tilt, cruise, 4.0 HO and Auto.

Sounds like a great find, stumper. For a '99 and very low miles, that is definitely a reasonable price. I believe the Grizzly Edition was only an option in Canada, but I can't seem to find many details about it. I believe they came with distinct rims, an engine block heater, and a few other options.

That is a very desirable jeep, especially since it is a manual transmission. It seems like there was a guy on another forum who was dying to have one. I paid more for mine about 6 months ago with only about 20k less miles and 2 years newer. I would have bought that jeep if I would have found it back then. It sounds like a good deal!

thanks again, i am going to offer 4,500.00 and see what happens. it does has alloy 5 spoke rims and yes a block heater, he has all the maintenance records,[ a full binder from day one] has new: tires,battery,tune-up-plugs-filters-all fluids!! serp belt. Basicly, buy and drive away. also, no types of road rash underneath. rocker panels has no stone chips at all! Too, Blacksheep, it's an Automatic trans, but has the shifter for 4wd, on the transmission tunnel. I hope to add this Vehicle to my house, left a message for him just a couple mins ago. Stumper

I don't know enough about newer XJ's to say whether that is a good deal or not. I like my 1700 I spent for 2 jeeps!
With the economy as bad as it is I would offer 4 I bet he will take it.

Looks like the Grizzly Edition gets the wheels painted to match? That's cool!
$5,000 isn't too terribly bad....I would start at $4,000 and see what happens.
99 is a great year too!
