99 Cherokee Sport Wiring Gremlins
New here so have some patience.
I have a 99 Ckerokee Sport.
It's new to me but my 4 wheeling goes back to 1969.
I had a 69 Landcruiser with a 350 chev and a M22.
Airborn most of the time
Now to the present
Everything works when the key is on. +1
Turn the key off almost everything still works. -10
With the key off the following still work:
Door locks (they are suposed to work with the key off)
Power Windows - grrrrr
Lights on the driver, passenger, & rear window switches
Radio - grrrrr
Windshield wipers - ditto
Now the weird part
press the child lock (turn lock on) on the driver's control panel and the windows stop working and the light on the switches go out the radio goes off and the wipers stop working (only when the key is off) It all works fine when the key is on.
If I pull the door lock fuse it the problem goes away except the doors all unlock when I turn the key off.
I've replaced the drivers control panel ($70) - same issue
Traced both sides wires at the door hinges - no shorts
Oh - and with the key off if you push the child lock button on and off the cigar lighter relay clicks.
There has to be a short somewhere other than the doors that lets the door lock circuit back feed to the windows, wipers, radio, and switch courtesy lights.
Anybody have a wiring diagram of the entire vehicle or some high explosives to reduce the problem to quarter sized pieces?

fixed it
Sone bone head before me purposly srtipped a constant hot and an accy hot tie rapped them togther and taped them up in the passinger door.
Must have been a dealership - only place I can figure would be stupid enough to try it.
Works fine now.
Bought the haynes manual - worked ok for me.
