'99 XJ 4.0 5spd 4x4, runs and starts 100% perfectly every time, trying to clean up the lights on the dash and that darn CEL won't fix. Replaced CPS and Distributor sensor for the p1391, no dice. Backprobed the wiring and reset the computer, no dice. I've seen a few posts saying replace the distributor itself, but I just wanted to see if anyone has better ideas for me before I throw another part at it. It very well could be out of timing slightly since I'm yet to check that, but given it runs like a top and gets 21 mpg doing so I have my doubts.
If anyone has any "This fixed that stubborn issue for me" ideas, it would be much appreciated.

No, Standard Ignition CPS and a pick n pull distributor sensor (not sure what brand). Jeep runs exactly the same after both replaced, so I figured they weren't the issue. Would the sensors being aftermarket be just enough to throw the code?
