I have a 1999 xj 4.0L with about 127k on it. Bought a few months ago and had some nasty lifter tick. So I replaced all of the lifters, pushrods, rocket arms, and the bridges as well. Head gasket was also replaced. Also threw an oil pump in as well for it being clogged a few days later. After all said and done it started acting strange the next day. Sputtering stalling and misfiring. Found it had tps codes in it. I replaced the tps with one from advance auto (forget brand) and cleared codes and it started up and ran fine. Once xj was warm it would stumble a little at idle and misfire pretty rough once the rpms went up. I replaced spark plugs. Wires. Coil. And the cap and rotor for distributor. New 4 hole injectors and heat shields and stuff. Anyone have anything similar? I’m gonna do compression test and fuel pressure tests today. I have no codes other than a large evap leak code. P0455 I think. Jeep has been sitting for months now. On the edge of getting rid of it as the parts cannon is running low on funds. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
