Hey I’m back in the xj game just pick one up for 650 cash runs and drives has a few crazy problems

so it starts in all gears and has codes 1491 1899 0455 0705

I think two codes are related to the nss


Any ideas what they where trying to do here

the large black wire appears to be going under the dash

Looks like instead of fixing the NSS, they ran a new wire straight to the ignition switch? You have some unfscking to do there. The other two codes are for an evap leak and electric fan issue. Looks like you need to either redo the valve cover gasket or replace the o-rings in the oil filter adapter too.

If I undo that wiring thing the car will not start so will pull the nss and see

I'm wondering if you even have an NSS. Do the reverse light work?

The nss is then. reverse lights work as well. When u undo the wires nothing happens no click on nothing even when shaking the shifter.

Tryed to remove the nss last night did not go well it broke and metal part got stuck tyrants but got it off had to make a few relief cuts in it and vise grips



ordered one will try to pick it up tonight
