I did pay a minimum to be on call. But they really didn't make a whole lot until they got in the truck to go earn some percentage. But... It was also on me as the owner to make sure they were busy enough to make it work for us both.

Oh yes, As you know they like to send them to us tow companies whether we want it or not. lol But there was a lot of good peer and industry news and content. I remember we got together and talked tow stuff right after I joined here a couple years ago.

The one I found interesting in a strange way was growing up reading the "Ca Highway Patrol" rag. Helped prepare me for what I was to grow up into and what to expect to see later on in this industry.

Just put in an Interstate Mega Tron Plus. 800cca. Actually a few interstate places near me didn't carry that one because they said the 34 size group is not as common and most people don't spend the extra money for the plus. It was $120. Didn't think that was too awful.

I got 6 years out of a mid grade Duralast battery. We'll see how this one goes.

We carry interstate at out shop.. they are a good battery. Better then AutoZone or orielly brands. But like you said you want to get something you can easily replace. In my experience with customers, the car parts batteries fail kind of quick, but the lifetime warranty is nice. It's all up to what you want.

I wouldn't live in Phoenix now, it's a mess. I like Az very much but that city is not for me. One of my kids and her husband live right off the 17 and T bird. They were lucky enough to find a real nice house in a pretty nice little neighborhood there. Their occupations kind of keep them tethered to the city in order to make a decent living.

Tell you what though... You don't want to even think about living anywhere South of I-8 anymore...

I knew Phoenix well, as I was in it a lot when I lived in AZ..... no I bought a house south of Phoenix... like 40 minutes south, near the Casa Grande/ AZ City area. Was nice and peaceful back then. I didn't mind the commute in order to live outside of the rat-race of Phoenix at the end of the day.

It's the same with us. We would rather live in a tent out in the country than a mansion in the city. lol
