hi to all ,

my 91 cherokee abs brake power booster failed. i replaced with a rebuilt and am ready to bleed the brakes. never having bled this system i'm not sure how to handle the booster?

can i just crack open the fitting at the booster while an assistant applies pedal pressure and be done with it or is there something special that needs to be done?

thanks much,

santomak

just fill it with brake fluid then start at the master cylinder and have someone pump and hold the pedal then crack one line loose let the air our and tighten it have your helper do it again a few times then move to the right rear then left rear right front and left front make sure to keep checking the fluid level so you don't run out because u will have to start over if u run it dry then when ur all done make sure ur pedal it nice and firm

If you have a 91 with the Bendix ABS, the procedure to bleed the system is at the bottom of this page:
