Reasons why the ABS light might come on... More details
Yes when the light is on ABS doesnt work.
It comes on sometimes from when i start te jeep to whenever im done driving. But if i start it and the light doesnt come on, it stays off the entire driving time.
What might i need to fix and how can i tell? Thanks

Personally I would rip all that garbage out. I hate ABS! There are a few write ups on here on how to convert it. At least that would be the route I would take.

I had ABS on my last XJ ('92). I used to run a rural newspaper route and I hated it on the gravel roads when I have to stop and put one in a tube. Nine times out of ten, even going slow, because of the ABS l, I'd slide past the tube and have to back up a bit. Thank goodness that my current ('91) does not have it. It would have been one of the first things that I ripped out.

Bought my Cherokee XJ without it on purpose. The ABS and traction control lights have lit up on my 12 JK, and won't go out. The only good side is that neither system works now. I will have to take it to the dealer, only because it won't pass inspection that way. I wish I could rip it out, and still pass. Check you connections also. A little corrosion go a long way. Just follow the wires.
