Default abs question(s).... Grrrrr!!

lol well I'm having some trouble with my abs. It's a stock 89 xj in great shape. Anyway the dealer just replaced the abs actuator(spelling LOL). When it went in the pedal was hard as a rock... now not so much but the truck pull's hard to the right and they said the black ball looking thing behind the master need's to be replaced. I know it's under pressure but can i get this part used and be ok? Is there any conversion i can do to get rid of the abs or should I stick with it??

the brake booster is shot, thus the hard pedal. that would be the big black thing behind the master cylinder.
