Default AC blower motor

The AC blower motor on my 99 Cherokee has gone out a couple of times in the past 10 years. I don't run the fan speed on high anymore because that seemed to trigger it. Are these motors just weak or could there be another problem causing it? Does not seem related to the switch or the resistor as it happened before and after those were replaced. Any advice? Thanks!

Autozone didn't carry them at the time so cam O'Riley's. I guess they're Chinese. Dunno, never had a problem with other parts store stuff.

"they just don't build them like they use to" I prefer the original stuff from a Junk Yard, over what is normally available now to buy new for stuff like that.

Both my 90, (s) and my 84 works fine. Real local JY's might die without more business, we should support them.

Where does that blower motor ground? If the ground is bad, the motor will get hot.

Unlike the pre-1997 XJ's the blower is grounded through the mode selector switch, then to the chassis (G108).

Thanks Turbo X_J.

I've yet to find it. It's buried way up in the left corner.
